Join our dynamic Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB) Events team, where your expertise will enhance the planning and execution of high-standard client and internal events across APAC. Based in Singapore, you will collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to deliver strategic event solutions that align with our business goals.
As an Associate in the CIB Event Marketing team, you will lead event initiatives in the region, partnering with lines of businesses, marketing, and other functions to develop impactful programs. You will manage the end-to-end process of event planning, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to internal policies. Your role will involve significant exposure to senior management and require strategic, financial, and project coordination skills.
Job responsibilities
- Lead event initiatives in the region, partnering with lines of businesses, marketing, and functions to develop impactful programs aligned with business strategy
- Manage the end-to-end process of event planning, including event briefs, research, approvals, invitee & speaker management, venue set-up, event design, onsite support, production management (audio-visual, virtual event management), budget management, and post-event analysis
- Manage external vendors and venues on all event-related matters effectively
- Provide support across J.P. Morgan franchise sponsorships and cross lines of businesses events, ensuring benefits are delivered, effectively leveraged, and flawlessly executed
- Manage and track event budgets with a focus on cost efficiency
- Adhere to internal policies and procedures regarding reporting activities and spend, compliance regulations, approval processes, and ensuring appropriate documentation is in place
- Maintain the Events database accurately, including event metrics, budgets, and event collateral
- Develop partnerships within the team for coverage on complex conferences and events, and build relationships for new projects with other Lines of Businesses
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree in Events, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Hotel Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in event planning and management or execution
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills with the ability to confidently lead and manage events on an end-to-end basis
- Client-focused, highly organized, and process-oriented with the ability to manage multiple and competing deadlines
- Confidence to be an ambassador to internal management with the ability to forge strong relationships, interact, influence, and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and across Lines of Businesses
- Team player with proven ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and accurate manner; Effectively collaborate with team members, vendors, and internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and must be savvy with technology
- Periodic after-hours work will be required
- Periodic travel within the region may be required
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in the financial services industry
- Mandarin proficiency to collaborate and engage with stakeholders in China
