Job Description

Join our team! FRAMES is dedicated to delivering high-quality game cinematic services for the entire Ubisoft group. With our creative team based in Singapore and production talent spread across South East Asia & India, we collaborate across borders in crafting immersive storytelling to elevate our players’ experience.

YOUR DAILY ADVENTURE

As a Cinematic Director for FRAMES, you will shape and direct our cinematic sequences and playable scripted events. You’ll create compelling narratives that enhance the player's experience by closely collaborating with writers, designers, and artists.

What you’ll do

  • Provide the direction of in-game cutscenes and cinematic moments, ensuring high-quality storytelling and visual impact.
  • Work closely with the Senior Animation Director to define the creative vision and oversee the cinematic production within multiple studios in coproduction.
  • Mentor and inspire a team of cinematic artists and animators, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Create previz to get scenes started, develop and refine cinematic concepts, storyboards, and shot lists that align with the narrative team, game design and artistic direction.
  • Supervise the editing process, sound design, and visual effects to achieve polished final outputs.
  • Ensure that cinematic elements enhance the overall gaming experience.
  • Travel is expected for this role.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience as a Cinematic Director or similar role in the video game / VFX / media industry or similar.
  • Proven people management / leadership experience.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing cinematic work, including in-game cutscenes and narrative-driven projects.
  • Excellent understanding of storytelling, pacing, and visual composition.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., Unreal Engine, 3dsMax, Maya, Motion Builder).
  • Passionate about storytelling and visual language.
  • Proficiency in video editing software is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
