Job Description

Primary responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reviewing and approving of Controlled Goods regulated by Competition & Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCS) under Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Regulations.
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving of electrical and electronics products under Product Certification Scheme (PCS).

Specific responsibilities:

Operations

  • Responsible for reviewing and approving new COC, renewal and modification applications for controlled goods in the scope of expertise designated by Competition & Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCS).

  • Responsible for reviewing and approving new COC applications for electrical and electronics products under Product Certification Scheme (PCS) in the scope of expertise with respect to the same scope for controlled goods.

  • To maintain records and documents of the certification application.

  • To handle enquiries on CCS controlled goods.

  • To assist the Senior Certification Engineer in the daily operations.

  • Any other duties as assigned.

Business Development

  • Answer customer enquiries regarding departmental services and processes.

  • Active pursuit of potential base and forward opportunity leads to Certification Manager.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a related field

  • 2 years of related industrial experience

  • Experience in international or national standards an asset

  • Strong business acumen and able to take decisive actions in managing people and operations independently, while ensuring business competitiveness

  • Ability to influence decisions and actions in dealing with internal and external stakeholders

  • High level of integrity, ethics and compliance with legislature and internal company policy

  • Written and verbal proficiency in English
