The Role

IT Applications is a global, centralized category management function. The team manages a common global sourcing function for datacenter- and campus- infrastructure for the Telenor Group. This includes physical assets such as servers, networking and storage systems, as well as public cloud services. The team runs a wide array of global initiatives including RFPs, cost optimization, quality improvement, planning, strategies and company-to-company negotiations.

As an analyst you will be directly responsible for:

  • Price analysis and cost modelling

  • Demand planning with regular follow-ups of function/ budget owners

  • Supporting RFQs and negotiations with global vendors

The job also entails supporting the team with other tasks including strategy development and implementation. Consequently, you must have good communication skills and enjoy collaborating with others in a large, diverse and international company.

Profile

The right candidate must be detail oriented, analytical, have project management skills, an explorative mindset and strong communication skills. You must be comfortable and precise in handling large amounts of data. You should have a grip on key tools such as Excel, PowerBI, Pandas (Python). You need to be resilient and be able to work well under pressure.

You should have an academic understanding of relevant business subjects (e.g. procurement, supply chain) or relevant technology subjects (e.g. applications, Cloud services, End-user-compute product., AI/ML). Direct experience with the subject matter will be a plus but is not a strict requirement.

We believe that a strong candidate has:

  • 3-5 years of work experience

  • Excellent written and spoken English

  • Bachelor/master level education with at least some subjects within economics, statistics, math or programming/modelling.

The role can be somewhat adapted to the experience level and ambition of the candidate. We do believe, however, that a candidate that has fewer years of experience and who is eager to develop within analysis, business and strategic sourcing will be a great match for the position.

This is a 6 months contract role with the possibility to extend till 12 months.
