About Terrapinn:

We’ve been sparking ideas, innovations and relationships that transform business for over 30 years. Using our global footprint, we bring innovators, disrupters and change agents together, discussing and demonstrating the technology, strategies and personalities that are changing the way the world does business.

Our world leading events bring scale, knowledge and gravitas to promote innovation and technology that changes people’s lives. Whether it is solar and renewables in Africa, education technology in Australia, rail infrastructure and subsea communications in Asia, railways in the Middle East, orphan drugs in the Americas, or aviation in Europe, our events make a difference.

About the role:

As a Business Development Manager, you will own the full sales cycle – from identifying leads to closing deals. You’ll be selling both sponsorship and exhibition packages, working with a variety of account sizes and collaborating with teams across the business to create value-led propositions. This is a target-driven role with clear progression opportunities.

During a typical day you might:

  • Identify and convert new business opportunities
  • Manage full sales cycles for sponsorship or exhibition deals
  • Take meetings with prospects, either in-person or online
  • Chase down prospects by phone to try and advance your pipeline
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Prepare tailored proposals and contracts
  • Maintain up-to-date records in Salesforce and other tools
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts
  • Participate in planning and feedback with internal teams

About you:

We believe that you’ll need the below skills and experience to succeed in this role. Please note, that this is not an exhaustive list: if you think you could be who we’re looking for and are excited to join our team, please do still get in touch!

  • Commercially minded and driven to exceed targets
  • Clear communicator and confident negotiator
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
  • Professional and adaptable in a fast-paced environment

Key skills we’re looking for include:

  • Full-cycle sales (from outreach to close)
  • Prospecting and lead generation
  • Pipeline management (Salesforce and Gong)
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Proposal writing and deal structuring
  • Time management

Recruitment process:

It’s really important that we’re transparent about what you can expect when you apply for a role at Terrapinn. Our process is as follows:

  • Screening – a short online session with our Talent Director to assess mutual fit
  • Fill in our competency framework – this will be used as a discussion point in your first interview and gives us a chance to understand more about you
  • First round – in-person interview in our Singapore office with the hiring manager and another leader
  • Final interview in-person in our Singapore office with your potential line manager and the Managing Director. A mock pitch will likely form part of this.

We believe in equal opportunities and being a diverse and inclusive employer. If you need any potential adjustments to our planned process at all, please do contact us to discuss options.
