On behalf of one of its clients in the engineering and equipment manufacturing industry, The French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore is recruiting a Business Development Manager / Sales Manager (Lifts, Escalators & Passenger Conveyors) professional to support the growth of our lift, escalator, and passenger conveyor business in Singapore.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities across maintenance, repair, modernization, replacement, and new installation projects. A key objective of the role is to expand the Company’s recurring maintenance portfolio while generating additional revenue through modernization, repair, equipment upgrades, and new installation opportunities.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the growth of a dynamic organization serving Singapore’s transportation, infrastructure, commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales
• Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities for lift, escalator, and passenger conveyor maintenance, repair, modernization, replacement, and installation projects.
• Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve business growth objectives and sales targets.
• Expand the Company’s maintenance portfolio through new contract acquisition, contract renewals, and strategic customer engagement.
• Identify maintenance, repair, modernization, replacement, and new installation opportunities to support sustainable business growth.
• Proactively identify customer needs and propose value-added service solutions.

Customer Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, facility management companies, property owners, developers, government agencies, transportation operators, and key industry stakeholders.
• Serve as a key point of contact for existing and prospective customers.
• Maintain regular engagement with customers to identify upcoming maintenance renewals, modernization projects, repair requirements, replacement opportunities, and new business prospects.
• Support maintenance contract renewals and long-term customer retention initiatives to strengthen recurring revenue streams.
• Support customer satisfaction initiatives and assist in resolving commercial issues where required.

Tendering & Proposal Development
• Support the preparation of quotations, proposals, tender submissions, and commercial offers.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, procurement, and finance teams to develop competitive solutions.
• Review tender requirements and assist in preparing technical and commercial submissions.
• Participate in contract negotiations and commercial discussions with customers where required.

Market Development
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, customer requirements, and industry developments.
• Identify maintenance, repair, modernization, replacement, and new installation opportunities within LTA, MRT operators, public infrastructure, facility management companies, government agencies, developers, and private sector clients.
• Maintain and develop a healthy sales pipeline through networking, customer visits, industry events, and business development activities.
• Support the Company’s market expansion strategy within Singapore’s transportation and vertical transportation sectors.

Internal Coordination
• Work closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and project teams to ensure successful delivery of awarded contracts.
• Support contract renewals, variation proposals, modernization opportunities, and upselling initiatives.
• Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts, pipeline reports, and customer information.
• Provide regular business development updates and market intelligence to management.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in business development, sales, account management, or customer relationship management within engineering, building services, facilities management, transportation, infrastructure, construction, or related industries.

• Experience in lifts, escalators, passenger conveyors, building services, facilities management, maintenance services, construction, or electromechanical systems will be highly advantageous.

• Experience dealing with LTA, MRT operators, government agencies, facility management companies, property owners, developers, consultants, or infrastructure clients will be advantageous.

• Experience in recurring service businesses, maintenance contracts, modernization projects, new installations, or lifecycle service solutions will be advantageous.

• Strong networking, relationship-building, negotiation, and presentation skills.

• Commercially driven with the ability to identify opportunities, develop customer relationships, and convert opportunities into business results.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently in a target-driven environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and relationship-building skills.

Candidates with existing eligibility to work in Singapore will have an advantage.
