Job Description

Vanderlande is seeking a proactive and analytically driven APAC Airports Controller to join our Project & Service Control team for the Airports domain. In this role, you will partner closely with Project Managers, the Finance team, and cross‑functional stakeholders across the Asia‑Pacific region to ensure financial excellence throughout large‑scale international airport projects and long‑term airport service contracts.

You will play a key role in driving transparency, enabling fact‑based decision‑making, and supporting strategic discussions through analysis, insights, and business partnering. The position is ideal for a finance professional who is confident working independently, thrives in a dynamic, international environment, and enjoys continuously improving ways of working within the airports/baggage handling business.

The APAC Airports Controller oversees project and service financial control for our airport operations across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, Japan, and other countries in the region, ensuring alignment with Vanderlande’s global standards while supporting the growth of our Airports domain portfolio. The role is based in Singapore, Vanderlande’s regional headquarters for Asia‑Pacific.

Analysis & Financial Control – Airports (APAC)

  • Own and lead financial reporting and performance tracking for assigned airport projects and airport service contracts in the APAC region.

  • Ensure accuracy in forecasts (LE), revenue recognition, billing, and margin reporting specific to baggage handling and airport logistics projects.

  • Drive the quality of Cost Estimate Reviews (CERs) for airport projects by aligning input from Project Managers, Controllers, and operational stakeholders across airports and service delivery.

  • Coordinate and facilitate Project Board meetings for airport projects, delivering insights on revenue, cash flow, billing, and risks & opportunities in the airports domain.

  • Lead scenario mapping and financial modelling for large or complex airport projects (e.g., BHS, check‑in, and baggage‑related systems) to support leadership decisions.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and accounting standards within the airports business and regional operations.

  • Identify and drive process improvements and standardization initiatives across the APAC airports controlling landscape.

Business Partnering & Stakeholder Engagement – Airports (APAC)

  • Act as the financial sparring partner to Airport Project and Service Managers, challenging assumptions and mitigating financial risk in airport‑related projects and long‑term service contracts.

  • Collaborate closely with Treasury (FX, guarantees), Procurement, and Supply Chain to ensure financial alignment for airport projects and airport service contracts.

  • Liaise with internal audit, pricing, and financial control teams to maintain consistency and data integrity for airport business reporting.

  • Translate financial data into actionable insights for both finance and non‑finance stakeholders in the airports domain (e.g., operations, engineering, and commercial teams).

  • Represent the Controlling team in cross‑functional discussions and escalation processes related to airport projects and APAC airport operations.

  • Support peer development by sharing best practices and contributing to team capability building within the APAC airports controlling team.
