Reporting to the Head of Business Continuity, the Business Continuity Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all DSII requirements are being met and co-ordinating the development and implementation of the Business Continuity (BC) and IT Disaster Recovery (ITDR) programmes to minimize business impact due to operational disruption, with a focus on recovery and resumption of critical business services to fulfil business and regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the delivery of the Business Continuity Management (BCM) programme for the business in accordance with Group policies and standards
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive entity level BC and Incidence Management (IM) plans
  • Coordinate the creation of departmental Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and BC plans
  • Support execution of the BC plans and coordinate the efforts of crisis management response and recovery
  • Manage annual ITDR exercises with IT department and business department stakeholders
  • Develop, maintain, and update the Recovery Plan (RCP) to stabilize and restore financial strength during severe stress situations
  • Regularly test the feasibility and effectiveness of the RCP and update it based on changes in circumstances
  • Engage regulator to maintain and update the resolution planning
  • Coordinate and submit data for resolution planning and resolvability assessments and the conduct of resolution
  • Facilitate training and exercises to prepare staff for handling disruptions effectively including coordinating industry wide stress scenario exercises
  • Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements and guidelines in relation to BCM and DSII (include fulfilling all reporting requirements)
  • Provide secretariat support for Steering Committee meetings
  • Perform third party due diligence assessments on BC preparedness
  • Manage BC enquiries from internal stakeholders 
  • Assist in Incident discussion, assessments and reporting

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience (at least 8+ years) in Business Continuity Management and/or IT disaster recovery programme delivery, preferably within a financial institution.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities with internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge and implementation experience of applicable laws and regulations in the insurance sector
  • Strong understanding of business continuity standards and best practices
  • Experienced in coordinating BC and IT disaster recovery exercises
  • Experience in managing recovery and resolution planning for D-SIB or D-SII is desirable

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Management, Computer Science, or related field
  • Professional certifications such as CBCP, MBCP, PMP, DRI or ISO would also be highly desirable

Language

  • Strong command of the English language
