Job DescriptionThe Base Operations Executive is responsible for overseeing and managing day-to-day base operations, with a particular focus on security. This role ensures the efficient and effective handling of equipment and personnel within the yard, while maintaining high standards of safety, security, and compliance. The executive will coordinate with various departments and external vendors to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of services and perform operational warehouse and outdoor storage activities related to receipt, storage, packaging, sea fastening, transportation, and distribution of products.
As an employee, you contribute to maintaining our organization’s quality, safety, and environmental management system as part of a continuous improvement process. In doing so, within your range of duties, you assume responsibility for adhering to all measures implemented by the company regarding quality, safety, and the environment.
Your responsibilities as Base Operations Executive:
- Monitors activities of receiving, checking, and forwarding of items at both the warehouse and outdoor storage yard.
- Monitors the quality and quantity of incoming products and keeps the responsible buyer informed in case of any deviation.
- Responsible for the safe storage of products at the designated location.
- Recording of sent and received products in Yellowstar, InforLN and other applicable systems. Ensures timely availability of required documentation.
- Monitors PPE stock levels in the warehouse and provides timely updates to relevant departments. In case of differences between actual and administered stock are observed, to inform the Base Operations Manager.
- Ensures that goods are packed according to agreed standards before dispatching and ensures safe loading and unloading of means of transportation and containers.
- Develop and implement security policies and procedures to safeguard the base, vessels, and occupants.
- Oversee general maintenance and repairs of yard and warehouse facilities.
- Provide support and coordination on logistical matters for projects and vessels in the region.
- Ensure timely revalidation of statutory certificates for yard equipment, buildings, and warehouses.
- Develop and execute sustainability initiatives to minimize environmental impact and oversee waste management programs.
- Serve as the primary contact for tenants, supervise and manage company drivers, take on driver duties in their absence, assist in pre-procurement processes, and stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
Your qualities and experience
You can move ahead as a Base Operations Executive if you have:
- Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; certification in security management or sustainability practices.
- Possess a Class 3 license and a forklift license.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in yard, warehouse, and logistics operations, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of logistics principles, inventory management, transportation planning, and security protocols.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software applications; proactive and detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility.
