Co-Development Business Unit is hiring for Back End Developer

You will work in Singapore Government Agencies

This is a fixed term contract role. The engagement is 18 months.

The initiative involves comprehensive PowerBuilder application maintenance, Sybase database migration, and backend system modernisation.

What will you do?

• Take full ownership of end-to-end application development, integrating frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure.
• Design, develop, and maintain responsive, accessible, and performant web applications.
• Implement modern frontend architectures, ensuring reusability, scalability, and security.
• Develop high-performance backend services and APIs, ensuring reliability, security, and observability.
• Work with Quality Assurance (QA) engineers to ensure automated test coverage and proactively fix bugs and defects.
• Optimize full-stack CI/CD deployment strategies, ensuring seamless and automated releases.
• Work with DevOps teams to automate infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and cloud deployments.
• Ensure full-stack security, including authentication, authorization, API security, and frontend security best practices.
• Continuously evaluate and adopt emerging technologies to improve application performance and developer productivity

What are we looking for?

Minimum 3 years experience in backend development

• Strong expertise in SQL and Sybase stored procedure analysis/optimisation
• Experience with API development and integration
• Proficiency in modern programming languages (Java, C#)
• Experience with RESTful API design and implementation
• Code development, testing, and deployment following SDLC best practices
• Version control management using Git or similar systems
• Unit testing and integration testing implementation
• Code review participation and quality assurance
• Bug fixing and defect resolution
• Adherence to coding standards and best practices
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams (QA, DevOps, Business Analysts)
• Agile/Scrum methodology participation
• Technical documentation creation and maintenance
• Performance monitoring and optimisation
• Security best practices implementation
• Continuous learning and technology updates
