Develop compelling narratives, support senior executives and spokespersons, cultivate media and institutional relationships, analyze trends and stakeholder issues, and use analytics, media intelligence, social listening, and AI to measure and improve communications effectiveness.
Business Function
Group Marketing & Communications is responsible for building, protecting, and enhancing the DBS brand in an increasingly commoditised banking industry. Working closely with all units within the DBS Group, we create and execute integrated strategies that focus on communications especially digital communications, marketing, and research to differentiate - and elevate - our brand from the rest of the competition.
Responsibilities
- Enhance DBS' corporate reputation by driving strategic communications, executive positioning and thought leadership across key priorities, working with stakeholders across the organisation to identify, develop and amplify compelling corporate stories and strategic narratives.
- Support senior management and DBS spokespersons on external engagements, including media interviews, speaking engagements, panel discussions, conferences, opinion pieces and contributed content.
- Research and analyse emerging macro trends, business developments and stakeholder issues, synthesising complex information into compelling narratives, thought leadership and strategic communications content.
- Cultivate strategic relationships with media organisations, conference organisers, industry influencers and other institutional stakeholders to identify opportunities that strengthen DBS' reputation, elevate senior leadership profiles and support broader business objectives.
- Monitor emerging issues and reputational risks, and support incident and crisis communications efforts by developing timely, effective and stakeholder-centric responses.
- Leverage analytics, media intelligence and social listening tools to measure communications effectiveness, identify opportunities and provide actionable insights.
Requirements
- While candidates from all disciplines are welcome, a Bachelor's degree in political science, PPE, communications, journalism, economics, business or a related field will be advantageous.
- 8-10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, journalism or a related field. Experience in financial services and/or economics advantageous.
- Strategic thinker with exceptional writing and storytelling abilities. Proven track record of developing compelling strategic narratives and thought leadership across owned, earned and paid channels.
- Experience supporting senior executives and managing high-profile communications initiatives, including media engagements, speaking opportunities, executive profiling, thought leadership and issues management.
- AI savvy, with a keen eye on leveraging emerging technologies, data and insights to enhance communications effectiveness. Most importantly, a positive attitude - agile, resilient and collaborative.
