Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
OVERVIEW
This role will primarily deliver timely and top-quality videos of CNBC Asia Pacific's programs across multiple platforms - TV, CNBC.com, and social media. You will work closely with colleagues across departments such as Editorial, Graphics, Studio, Transmission, On-Air Promotions, and at varying levels to ensure the success of CNBC Asia Pacific's programming and operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide non-linear video editing services of live news for TV, CNBC.com and social media platforms
- Clip and edit selected segments of CNBC news recordings and feed video clips to affiliate channels
- Ensure videos adhere to CNBC's broadcast standards and are of highest quality for publishing across all platforms
- Patch live TV program segments for digital and social media platforms, as well as for distribution licensing purposes
AD-HOC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform censorship editing for selected feature programs
- Edit video recordings of Chinese language daily news bulletin
- Provide non-linear video editing services for long-form feature programs
- Clip long-form feature programs for third-party subtitling
- Edit videos for on-air promotions
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Strong passion in building a career as a video editor in multimedia company
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also thriving in a collaborative team environment
- Exceptional multi-tasking skills and the capability to perform efficiently under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and a key eye for accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster effective collaboration across all levels and functions
- Flexibility and willingness to work shift hours on weekdays, including occasional public holidays and weekends
- Proficiency in Mandarin to edit video recordings of Chinese-language news bulletins
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
While not essential for this role, candidates with experience or proficiency in the following attributes tend to excel in this position.
- 0 to 3 years of experience in non-linear video editing
- Experience in a post-production or TV environment
- Basic familiarity in Grass Valley Edius editing system
- Good knowledge in Adobe Premiere Pro and its associated plug-ins
