Position Overview

The AVP, Global Supply Chain Excellence reports directly to the head of Order Fulfillment and Global Supply Chain (OFS). This role is responsible for translating business priorities into applied manufacturing and logistics operational excellence programs that deliver measurable results.

A fundamental expectation of this leader is to champion operational excellence and create the next phase of transformation that takes operational excellence to the next level. The AVP will need to inspire and motivate teams, driving measurable improvements in quality, productivity, and cost. This role requires a strategic thinker who can translate business priorities into actionable programs, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

The AVP will lead a global team of 9 direct reports who will work with a global network of local team members across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC to enable lasting Lean transformation and achieve improvement in productivity.

This is an onsite position based in one of the Order Fulfilment & Supply Chain sites. Potential work locations include Wilmington (Little Falls Delaware), Cedar Creek (Austin), Texas, Folsom California, Waldbronn (Germany) and Singapore.

Primary responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Develop, manage, and facilitate the Agilent Supply Chain Excellence strategy and initiatives to improve productivity and accelerate growth.

  • Supply Chain Excellence Governance: Lead deployment and governance of supply chain excellence initiatives, ensuring measurable improvements in quality, productivity, and cost.

  • Team Leadership: Oversee the Agilent Supply Chain Excellence team, including 9 direct reports (Tiger Team members), building skills and capabilities to deliver sustainable value and execution discipline.

  • Lean Methodology: Drive Lean methodology and standardization of supply chain excellence approaches, ensuring best practice sharing across sites and functions.

  • Digital Tools: Ensure cost-effective automation and digital tools are in place to drive and sustain supply chain excellence.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with OFS Leadership, Site Supply Chain Excellence Leads, Global Engineering, IT, Finance, and PMO to align and execute supply chain excellence initiatives.

  • Performance Metrics: Use metrics to support process owners in linking projects to strategic operational objectives. Ensure savings targets are appropriately distributed and facilitate the development of annual roadmaps to support savings objectives.

  • Cost Savings Initiatives: Drive site cost savings initiatives and assist teams in developing supply chain excellence roadmaps for strategic objectives deployment.

  • Best Practices: Identify best practices within and outside the company and serve as a channel for best practice sharing and adoption across business units.

  • Guidance and Coaching: Provide guidance for projects and kaizen events. Lead and coach through hands-on participation.

  • Organizational Leadership: Challenge organizational leaders to create an action-based culture of continuous improvement.

  • Financial Collaboration: Work with the finance department to evaluate project savings estimates, validate reported supply chain excellence benefits, and ensure accurate accounting of supply chain excellence productivity.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with multiple stakeholders to ensure cohesive and reachable measures of success. Apply excellent facilitation and influencing skills to deliver value through other parts of the organization.

  • Training and Development: Create and deliver training materials; develop supply chain excellence competencies in leaders and team members at all levels.

  • Team Development: Attract and develop a high-performing team. Identify talent and coach for career advancement opportunities.

  • Program Expansion: Develop and expand the portfolio of programs to enable the organization's growth strategy.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, operations, supply chain, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience leading operational excellence and lean transformation in manufacturing and logistics environments.

  • Formal Lean Six Sigma certification (Master Black Belt preferred).

  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and project management skills. Proficiency in Lean methodology and digital tools for operational excellence.

  • Proven track record of getting results in a highly matrixed global organization.

  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of employees ranging from C-suite to individual contributors.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams and collaborating across multiple departments and functions, creating followership, and role modeling that aligns with Agilent’s Values.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to completion within established timelines; ability to adapt to changing priorities.

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $150,000.00 - $250,781.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
