Responsibilities
- Serving as a subject matter expert supporting clearing and settlement processes across a range of asset classes like Equity, Options, derivatives, FX, and commodities
- Daily affirmation and reconciliation of position and cash activity, minimizing operational risk and maximizing straight-through processing
- Liaising with both internal teams and external exchanges to scope new processes, troubleshoot ad-hoc problems, and propose continuous improvements
- Monitoring and reporting of daily PnL for various markets to senior management
- Investigating and resolving of queries raised by trading desks, other departments, and counterparties
- Building business intelligence reports regarding operational activities for management
- Assisting in automation efforts and process improvements
Qualifications
- A degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or other related fields; CFA a plus
- Entrepreneurial spirit and an enthusiasm for continuous learning
- At least 3 years of experience in capital markets operations
- Extensive communication across trading teams and software development teams
- The desire for a fast-paced environment and “to wear multiple hats”
- High-level MS Excel knowledge is a must, as is comfort with Vlookups, Pivot Tables, and conditional statements
- Experience with workflow management software, such as JIRA
