Job Description
You will be an integral part of Asia Pacific team, collaborating with Distribution, Investment Management (front office), wider distribution support functions and staff groups.You will report to the Asia Pacific Business Manager, Risk and Control Officer, and will assist her in planning, executing and delivering various initiatives, coordinating with and managing relationships with regional and global teams:
* Business and risk management – regional governance, reporting and managing or having oversight on operational risk.
* Project management – cross functional, regional and global projects.
Role Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of the region's key business objectives and strategy.
- Coordinate governance committees and working groups such as the Regional Business Management Committee, Financial and Operational Risk Committee Operational Risk Working Group, Financial Risk Working Group, prepare agenda and papers, propose items for escalation and record minutes.
- Carry out analysis of data, assist in the preparation of internal updates, dashboards, and executive summaries, highlight trends and follow up with relevant internal stakeholder for further details where necessary.
- Produce quality written reports / presentations and run the production of regular business updates, suitable for review by senior leadership team.
- Participate actively in regional business plans and projects, monitor project performance against key performance indicators, provide regular updates to stakeholders and evaluate project outcomes. These are usually cross-functional projects and may extend across business development (e.g. new market / segment), products, operations, operational risk and compliance.
- Assist in development, implementation and update of regional policies and procedures.
- Identify and assess risk events relating to/impacting APAC business operations/clients; own and drive the timely resolution of identified issues to successful closure.
- Maintain Business Continuity Plans and serve as the business BCP coordinator of APAC.
- Lead and oversee procurement, vendor management, and outsourcing processes in APAC.
- Produce responses to regulatory surveys based on information gathered from internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate and perform risk assessments, e.g. risk and control self-assessment, privacy risk assessment, office risk assessments; identify potential risks and present updates and recommendations to BU/Functional heads, where required.
- Coordinate with Corporate Services team on leasing, upgrading or renovation projects relating to APAC offices.
Key Capabilities:
- 3-5 years of experience in financial services, i.e. Asset Management, Wealth Management, Banking; experience in Audit, Management Consulting and/or business management function preferred.
- Experience working in matrixed, cross border environments.
- Proficiency in project planning, execution, monitoring and reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Ability to produce quality outputs whilst working under pressure with conflicting priorities and short deadlines.
- Trusted with confidential information.
- Confident and can communicate effectively with senior management and stakeholders, and build collaborative relationships with internal teams.
- Self-driven and proactive, with strong sense of accountability and follow-through.
- Demonstrates good judgment, teamwork and integrity
- High attention to detail and well-organized
- Problem solver with collaborative mindset – able to identify issues, assess options, and lead business units/functions to develop actionable solutions effectively.
- Adaptable and flexible to changing situations, being open to new ideas and tasks, and able to find creative solutions to challenges
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
Desirable:
- Additional Asian language skills (e.g. Chinese) is desirable.
- Good understanding in regulatory requirements and risk management.
- Have knowledge in Salesforce
