About this role
Business Unit Overview:
Portfolio Management Group (PMG) is focused on delivering a range of investment products through the risk spectrum from Index replication through to highly sophisticated hedge funds. The team manages these products using a number of different investment styles including Fundamental and Systematic and provides solutions to both retail and institutional client bases.
Key Responsibilities:
- As a member of the macro research team, deep dive into Asian economies to generate strong investment theses
- Assist portfolio manager with trade ideas, portfolio construction, including the setting of targets, market timing and stop losses
- Analyze existing workflows for the macro team and propose improvements and ways to systematize existing manual processes
- Maintain spreadsheets and slide decks for us in our investment process and for internal/external presentations
- Serve as a resource for, and share information with, other investment professionals at BlackRock
- Perform portfolio management tasks including order raising/sizing, portfolio rebalancing, monitoring of positions, performance and risk
- Evaluate performance attribution and communicate market/portfolio performance
Key Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or Technology
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a macroeconomic role, with a focus on APAC economies
- Familiarity with financial instruments, product lines, or relevant institutional experience
- Proficient in Python or R; experience with VBA/Macros, Tableau, EViews, or Stata is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Intellectually curious, with a mindset of continuous learning
- Collaborative, team-oriented, and service-driven
- Proactive, resourceful, and quick to learn
- Comfortable working across teams, geographies, and time zones
- Demonstrates strong ethics and integrity

Our hybrid work model
