JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB FUNCTION:
Under direct supervision, serves as local HR partner at a regional site. Acquires general understanding of local business divisions in order to support people strategies, enable talent development and improve retention at the local level. Assists with general HR matters such as employee relations, performance management, onboarding, compensation, and employee career development issues that require knowledge of the fundamental concepts and practices in Human Resources. Responsible for working with HR colleagues and local business leaders to provide responsive approaches and drives adoption of HR initiatives locally.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports HR initiatives locally by providing guidance on programs and ensuring local adoption.
- Supports One HR Culture, Diversity & Inclusion, employee engagement and retention strategies locally. Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve the employee experience.
- Understands general local employment law concepts and work with HR colleagues to keep up to date on local trends impacting talent.
- Assists in execution of local onboarding, salary planning, talent development, performance and exit management.
- Provides guidance and interpretation of HR policies, procedures and processes to ensure local adoption and compliance. Support audit, compliance and other HR related programs locally.
- Identifies opportunities for developing new or revised human resources policies and procedures. Assists in developing and implementing programs using knowledge of organizational (enterprise and HR) goals and objectives.
- Supports the development and execution of HR projects and performs other duties as directed.
- Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University Degree in Human Resources Administration, Business Administration or a related discipline, plus generally 1-3 years of Human Resources administration or HR shared services experience.
- Strong communication and client service skills with an ability to build confidence with customers and provide creative solutions.
- Working knowledge of labor law as well as market knowledge with respect to employee relations, recruitment, compensation and performance management.
- Demonstrated proficiency with commonly used business and HR software applications.
- General knowledge of human resources policies, procedures and processes related to all functional areas of Human Resources.
- Basic analytical skills with the ability to interpret data.
- Basic project management skills with the ability to complete project deliverables accurately and on time.
