Guided by our vision to be the “Best Bank for a Better World”, DBS seeks to create long-term value for stakeholders in a sustainable way. We see sustainability as an active value driver that offers new opportunities, enhances resilience against sustainability-related risks and strengthens trust with our stakeholders.

Functions of the CSO Team

The Chief Sustainability Office (CSO) sets DBS’ Group-wide sustainability direction and governance agenda and coordinates delivery of its sustainability commitments with teams across the bank. It serves as a central team supporting senior management in integrating the Group’s strategic sustainability direction into the business.

The CSO works with senior management and key governance forums, including the Board Sustainability Committee, Group Sustainability Council and Group Climate Council, to align priorities and drive delivery against the Group’s sustainability scorecard. It leads or coordinates strategic sustainability initiatives and develops relevant policies, frameworks and guidance to support consistent implementation across the bank.

It leads sustainability reporting and engagement with key external stakeholders on sustainability matters, including regulators, investors, industry bodies and ecosystem partners.

  • Engage teams across DBS units and markets to shape the approach, coordinate implementation and support consistent delivery of sustainability priorities.
  • Support internal engagements and capability building across the bank by developing practical tools, guidance, communications and learning initiatives.
  • Support external engagements with regulators, industry groups and ecosystem partners by coordinating inputs, preparing relevant materials and ensuring clear follow-through on agreed actions.

First-Year Success Profile

  • Deliver assigned works to agreed scope, milestones and quality standards, with challenges/risks surfaced early.
  • Earn trust with senior stakeholders through well-supported recommendations, crisp executive materials and reliable follow-through.

Differentiated Capabilities
