About this role
The APAC Wealth Client Business partners with leading banks, digital wealth platforms and intermediaries to deliver BlackRock’s full suite of investment solutions—indexing, active funds, ETFs, alternatives, model portfolios and managed accounts. The COO team enables this business through strategy, sales planning, market intelligence, business management, and technology & data enablement across the region.
We are seeking an analytically strong, highly organized Associate to support APAC Wealth’s strategy, market intelligence, strategic client initiatives, business management, and technology/data transformation.
The role requires curiosity about the Wealth industry, strong level of drive and ownership to get things do, and the ability to multi-task in a highly dynamic work environment, engaging effectively stakeholders across functions and Wealth sales teams based across Greater China, Southeast Asia, Australasia and Japan.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy & Market Intelligence
- Support in shaping the 3–5 year commercial strategy of the APAC Wealth business, including product, channel, and market prioritization.
- Conduct industry and competitor analysis covering private banks, local banks, digital wealth players, fintechs, and asset managers.
- Track macro trends, regulatory shifts, product innovation (e.g., DPM/SMA, alternatives, retirement, ETFs), and consumer/wealth flows impacting the business.
- Produce benchmarking deliverables (AUM growth, flows, market share, platform capabilities, pricing, digital tools, sales models).
- Coordinate strategic planning cycles (annual strategy review, mid-year refresh, budget governance).
2. Business Management
- Partner with Sales on budgeting, forecasting, and distribution strategy development.
- Coordinate with Marketing, Platform, Core COO, and GPS teams on regional initiatives and operational exercises.
- Support tracking execution progress against KPIs, strategic priorities, and sales targets.
3. Data & Analytics and Processes automation
- Work with broader Wealth COO, Finance and Regional Sales Support (RSS) teams on supporting the business with data management and insights, including sales dashboards, CRM / MS Dynamics, Aladdin, and other platforms
- Drive automation and process redesign to improve speed, consistency and insightfulness of reporting and other data processes
- Drive process enhancements / automation to increase efficiency and effectiveness of sales-related processes. This includes support testing, rollout and uptake of:
- AI tools (Co‑pilot, Briefing Memo AI, translation tools)
- Firmwide dashboards and workflow automation initiatives
- Sales and reporting digital enhancement projects
- Partner with Technology & Data partners to ensure Wealth-specific needs are represented in platform roadmaps.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, with strong academic performance.
- 4–5 years of experience in financial services, strategy, consulting, market intelligence, business management, or analytics.
- Strong interest in Wealth & Distribution, including industry drivers, digital trends, and product innovation.
- Excellent analytical skills, with comfort working with large and complex datasets.
- High proficiency in Excel (VBA preferred); exposure to SQL, Tableau, and/or Python is a plus.
- Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to produce clear, senior‑ready materials.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams under tight deadlines.
- Team‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable working across geographies.
- Fluency in English required; Asian language skills are a plus.
