The Assistant Vice President, Investment will manage infrastructure investments by underwriting opportunities, conducting due diligence, and handling both the transaction and post-deal management processes. JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Purpose
This is a key role that focuses on supporting infrastructure investments in Keppel, managing the end-to-end investment process from underwriting potential investment opportunities, transactions management, deal conclusion with the various stakeholders, as well as, post-deal management. The key objective of this role will be to contribute to the execution and delivery of maximizing the risk-adjusted returns for the investments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the senior team in identifying and evaluating potential investment opportunities, underwriting, structuring and executing transactions in Asia Pacific and other regions
- Conduct, review and maintain detailed financial modelling to assess or support prospective investments; Present financial analysis to key stakeholders
- Conduct and coordinate various due diligence work streams including but not limited to legal, financial, tax, commercial, technical and ESG due diligence for potential investments, working with internal functional teams and external advisers/ consultants
- Work with internal functional teams and external advisors to plan, negotiate and structure deal documentation, contracts and financing
- Prepare investment papers, presentations and other materials as required
- Project manage investment and divestment processes including participation in both auction and bilateral/ off-market transactions
- Support the planning and implementation of strategies around asset management including working alongside the investee companies on post-closing initiatives, i.e., integration plan, overseeing company’s performance, executing the business plan and investment exits.
- Responsible for periodic reporting, i.e., quarterly and annual investor meeting, and assist in developing marketing or communication materials for internal and external use
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- At least 7 years of relevant investment experience ideally in fund management or corporate finance/ M&A/ valuation in investment banks or corporate principal investment teams or accounting firms, focused on the infrastructure sector; Candidate with less than 7 years of experience but with superior relevant experience and skill sets would also be considered
- Strong academic qualifications
- Proficient with market and industry research in infrastructure
- Proactively manage and respond to daily tasks, detailed-oriented, willing and able to get hands dirty to meet targets with limited supervision
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in a fast pace dynamic environment with high degree of flexibility and adaptability
- Independent and critical thinker with exceptional analytical ability; strong financial modelling skills
- The ability to make effective investment and asset management decisions
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to build relationships and interact well with different functions and levels
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation and interpersonal skills. Strong ability to communicate via Power Point, excel and orally
- Possess strong work ethic, accountability and a passion for excellence
- Willing to travel frequently, if required, to various key markets
