What You’ll Be Doing

As the Assistant Manager, Workshop, you will plan and oversee workshop operations to optimize capacity, meet labour and parts targets, and ensure timely job completion.

Workshop Operations & Planning

  • Plan and manage workshop capacity loading to achieve budgeted labour and parts turnover.
  • Monitor and verify daily and monthly capacity loading, including carry-forward FRUs.
  • Oversee daily work-in-progress (WIP) vehicle status and ensure timely follow-up with foremen to meet customer deadlines.
  • Ensure workshop tidiness, cleanliness, and a safe working environment at all times.

Performance Monitoring & KPI Management

  • Conduct workshop time analysis and ensure performance meets established KPIs.
  • Monitor and verify daily workshop time clocking.
  • Check and verify monthly workshop incentive calculations before processing the payout.
  • Conduct counselling for staff who fail to meet performance targets (Efficiency, Productivity, Utilization) for three consecutive months.

Quality Assurance & Customer Satisfaction

  • Ensure high repair quality standards are maintained by workshop staff.
  • Investigate and contact customers to manage complaints related to workshop repairs.
  • Follow up on poor repair quality issues identified through customer complaints, repeated jobs, and mystery workshop tests. Discuss and implement corrective actions with the Service Manager.
  • Conduct regular meetings with foremen and supervisors to drive continuous improvement in workshop performance.

Warranty & Compliance

  • Oversee warranty claim rejections and ensure corrective actions are taken to meet KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with retail standards in accordance with Principal guidelines.

Staff Development & Resource Management

  • Plan and coordinate training and development programs for workshop staff with Training Department.
  • Authorise purchase orders for workshop consumables, tools, and equipment in accordance with Sime Motors' LOA.

Support & Collaboration

  • Assist the Service Manager with projects and assignments as required.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service Advisors (CSAs) and foremen to monitor WIP and provide updates in weekly reports.

Who We’re Looking For 

  • Minimum Diploma in Mechanical /Automotive Engineering   
  • Possess Valid Class 3 Singapore driving licence
  • 3 years in automotive trade service / repair & customer service.
  • 3 years in supervisory or managerial position.
  • Familiarity with warranty processes and OEM retail standards
  • Strong understanding of vehicle diagnostics, repair processes, and workshop systems
