We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Vice President to join a dynamic and growing Asia Corporate Tax Team with responsibility for supporting the tax advisory team providing advice to the Asset Management and Global Equities and Prime Finance business in Asia.
As an Asia Regional Tax Advisor for Asset Management, Global Equities and Prime Finance, Vice President within the Asia Corporate Tax Team, you will be responsible for acting as a key contact and strategic partner to the firm's Asset Management, Global Equities and Prime Finance business playing an active role in the team's efforts to support the business in its growth strategy in key Asia Pacific markets. You will ensure frequent and effective interaction with business and functional support stakeholders, at all levels, and also provide technical tax advice in a commercial setting with a key focus on controls and risk management.

Job responsibilities
- Work autonomously as a member of the Corporate Tax team to provide regional tax advisory services across the various businesses
- Be responsible for product, transaction and platform advisory, review of new business initiatives, technical tax updates, tax compliance and general tax planning matters
- Partner closely with the line of business front office, Corporate Tax team colleagues, external advisors and functional support group personnel located both within and outside Asia to deliver technical and commercial tax advice
- Develop and manage effective controls for new products, existing global reporting regimes and work with responsible stakeholders to review and maintain oversight over existing products/ platforms/ processes
- Pursue constant and effective communication with all stakeholders
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law or a related discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in tax with an accounting firm, law firm or inhouse corporate with a focus on advisory
- Strong communication (both written and verbal) and partnership skills
- Well developed analytical thinking, attention to detail and positive/ proactive attitude
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Knowledge of financial market products (including financial derivatives, stock brokerage, stock borrowing and lending, prime brokerage), fund management industry, common fund structures (including related portfolio taxes/treaty entitlements), and reporting regimes such as FATCA/ CRS
- HK stamp duty experience on financial market products
- Knowledge of US tax principles or broad based Asia tax experience
