Job Description

The Asia HR Director in a few words 

We are looking for an Asia HR Director to lead HR strategy, organizational transformation, and integration across the Asia Pacific region, ensuring strong alignment between global priorities and local market needs.  

The Asia HR Director acts as a trusted Executive Business Partner to regional and global leadership teams, influencing business strategy through workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, leadership development, and culture alignment across APAC.  

Responsibilities 

  • Lead organizational transformation across APAC shifts/restructuring, mergers, or rapid scaling phases.  
  • Design and execute comprehensive change management and executive communication strategies that minimize business disruption and drive stakeholder adoption across multiple geographies.  
  • Own HR integration and change initiatives, including harmonization of policies, compensation frameworks, leadership alignment, and cultural integration across newly acquired or evolving business units.   
  • Own and execute the APAC HR strategy aligned with Averna’s global corporate objectives while maintaining the agility to address local market needs. 
  • Continue onboarding of APAC to the Averna global processes ensuring consistent adoption and compliance across the region. 
  • Identify high-potential talent and design Succession Planning and leadership coaching programs to build a middle-management layer across the region. 
  • Analyze regional compensation trends and lead Total Rewards strategies to ensure Averna remains competitive across diverse economies (from the high-cost talent markets of Japan to the emerging tech hubs in Vietnam/India). 
  • Lead HR digitization initiatives by leveraging HRIS integration tools to streamline regional reporting and enable data‑driven decision‑making, while supporting the implementation of the new HRIS across APAC. 
  • Act as a liaison between APAC offices and Global HQ, ensuring clear communication and alignment. 
  • Partner closely with regional leadership, finance, IT, legal, and operations to enable business growth. 
  • Present HR metrics and strategic updates to management team committees.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience   

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive HR experience, including a senior leadership role within a multinational organization heading the Asia Pacific region. 
  • Proven experience managing HR functions across India, China, Vietnam, and Japan, with a good understanding of the varying labor laws, compliance requirements, and cultural nuances in each. 
  • Proven experience in influencing teams to work in collaboration with other regions and adhere to change. 
  • Proven experience in putting action plans in place with KPIs to back them. 
  • Exceptional communication skills to act as a bridge between the APAC offices and Global Headquarters. 
  • A high "Cultural Intelligence" to navigate the hierarchical business cultures.  
  • Expertise in high-volume and niche technical hiring across different geographies, including building robust talent pipelines in competitive markets. 
  • Experience with international mobility is a strong asset.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% within Asia.
