The Application Engineer maintains legacy applications and leads cloud migration efforts, ensuring smooth transitions and post-migration optimization while collaborating with teams.
We are looking for an experienced Application Engineer to support legacy systems, plan and execute cloud migration strategies, and ensure a smooth transition to the cloud with minimal disruption to business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legacy System Support:
Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing applications. Apply patches, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with security standards. - Cloud Migration Planning:
Evaluate current system architecture, identify cloud-ready solutions, and develop cost-effective migration strategies (lift-and-shift, re-platform, or refactor). - Migration Execution:
Set up CI/CD pipelines, migrate databases, integrate APIs, and perform thorough testing to ensure successful deployment in the cloud. - Post-Migration Optimization:
Monitor cloud environments, optimize performance and costs, implement automation, and provide continuous support. - Collaboration & Documentation:
Work closely with DevOps, Security, and Cloud teams. Coordinate with business units and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation while promoting cloud best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting legacy applications.
- Strong knowledge of cloud migration (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, API integration, and database migration.
- Solid understanding of security best practices across both legacy and cloud platforms.
- Excellent analytical and cross-functional team collaboration skills.
