Primary Function:
- This hybrid role combines responsibilities in APAC-level project management and Singapore-based field application support to ensure the successful implementation and ongoing support of Abbott Molecular Diagnostics solutions.
- The Project Manager leads diagnostic solution implementation projects across the APAC region, managing all phases of the project life cycle—from shipment to routine operation—while ensuring alignment with commercial and service strategies. The individual also supports the APAC Service Director in shaping the service organization’s structure, operating model, financial planning, and resource deployment.
- In addition to project execution, the individual contributes to service compliance activities, including supporting internal and external quality audits by preparing documentation, and adherence to regulatory standards. The role also contributes to projects that drive operational improvements and strategic initiatives across the region.
- Complementing these responsibilities, the individual provides first-level technical application support exclusively for Singapore, ensuring high customer satisfaction and consistent alignment with Abbott’s quality and service standards.
Major Responsibilities
Project Management (APAC – 80%)
- Lead and manage diagnostic solution implementation projects across the APAC region, ensuring timely and successful execution from shipment to routine operation.
- Collaborate with Commercial and Service teams to align project execution with strategic business goals.
- Deploy and coordinate resources to meet organizational objectives, linking strategy with operational plans, projects, and key performance metrics.
- Track project deliverables, critical issues, and action items; ensure timely resolution and follow-up.
- Provide regular updates and transparent communications to senior management and stakeholders.
- Simplify and standardize tools, reports, and procedures to enhance service delivery efficiency.
- Chair project meetings and ensure accountability for deliverables across cross-functional teams.
- Support the APAC Service Director in developing and optimizing the service organization’s structure, operating model, financial planning, and resource deployment.
- Contribute to and lead projects that support strategic initiatives and operational improvements across the region.
- Support service compliance activities, including internal and external audits, documentation, and adherence to regulatory and quality standards.
Application Support (Singapore – 20%)
- Provide first-level technical application support for customers in Singapore, ensuring high service quality and customer satisfaction, with the ongoing possibility of larger scope of support for regional APAC customers
- Support instrument operation, troubleshooting, and documentation in alignment with Abbott’s technical and regulatory standards.
- Act as the primary liaison for technical inquiries and escalate complex issues to regional or global support teams as needed, sharing information and knowledge with all members of the MDx support team
- Support responsibilities are scheduled to ensure minimal conflict with project management duties.
- Be responsible for the Technical Training Centre in Singapore, provide demos, training and stock/instrument management
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in diagnostics/laboratory/medical devices industry with at least 3 years experience in a project management role and 2 years of technical support/application experience.
- PMP or equivalent certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of IVD, Biologics, and Medical Device regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and documentation systems (e.g., CMSNext).
- Willingness to travel up to 50% within the APAC region
