We are seeking an Alternatives Product Marketing Manager to join the team in Hong Kong or Singapore, to position Franklin Templeton’s alternative investment capabilities and products across retail and wealth channels in Asia. As part of the global alternatives marketing team, you will collaborate closely with APAC marketing team aiming to grow Franklin Templeton’s alternatives business within the region.

You will research competitive trends in marketing, develop and manage content with specialized investment managers across real estate, private credit, private equity, hedged strategies, venture capital and digital assets as well as assist colleagues in the implementation of promotional initiatives related to those strategies.

You will act as the central marketing authority for those relevant strategies in the APAC region and therefore must have a strong understanding of the markets relating to their respective strategies.  You must be a credible source of investment related information pertaining to their covered strategies and have a thorough understanding of all content available and or necessary to be developed in support of assisting the APAC Sales team in selling and in promoting the respective strategies.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position?

  • Develop messaging that positions Franklin Templeton’s Alternative strategies and products as investment solutions which can help address the needs of APAC clients with a focus on retail and wealth channels.
  • Develop and manage product collateral in collaboration with product specialists, product development, sales supporting both registered and private funds sold through Franklin Templeton’s APAC Distribution organization.
  • Collaborate with marketing operations to lead development of new product materials, including pitchbooks, product profiles, fact sheets and web content.
  • Ensure content for relevant strategies is consistent with core product messaging.
  • Obtain intimate knowledge of the investment philosophy and process of each strategy supported – including detailed understanding of current investment themes within the portfolio, knowledge of portfolio holdings, risk attributes of the strategy, past and current positioning of the portfolio, near-term outlook for the strategy and performance attribution in order to develop clear, consistent and pertinent collateral supporting solutions for challenges of our APAC’s retail and wealth clients.
  • Collaborate with other APAC Marketing team members and play a key role in creating and reviewing relevant product collateral and reviewing landing pages, social media and emails concerning strategies.
  • Liaise with marketing operations and other data teams to ensure data and product collateral regarding a given product are accurate and appropriate.
  • Proofread and conduct quality assurance of electronic and print materials.
  • Execute other projects and special marketing assignments, as necessary.

What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

Experience & Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in the development of multi-faceted, comprehensive product strategy or marketing campaigns in asset management
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years in asset management or wealth management, preferably in alternatives product specialist or alternatives product marketing roles

Skillset

  • An understanding of economic and financial concepts and capital markets is essential
  • Experienced in financial services and alternative products, capital markets and economic trends
  • Communicates effectively in writing and speaking
  • The ideal candidate must be proficient in English.
  • Candidates proficient in Cantonese and/or Mandarin would be preferred due to regional coverage
  • Listens actively; recognizes and reinforces good ideas
  • Thinks creatively and strategically first, then thinks tactically
  • Highly organized
  • Builds relationships through effective collaboration
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
