- We Expect High Performance - we set a high standard and we’re not satisfied with being average
This role
As an AI Integration Specialist, your mission is to accelerate the delivery of AI-enabled solutions at Employment Hero by designing and implementing the integrations, automations, and infrastructure that power them.
You’ll work at the intersection of AI, automation, and engineering — building the connective tissue between systems, workflows, and data that bring AI use cases to life. Whether it's triggering workflows from Slack, orchestrating actions across tools like Salesforce, or enabling access to cloud-based AI models, you're the one who turns the concept into something real.
This is a technical individual contributor role, focused on delivery. You’ll work as part of the AI Enablement Team, with a deep focus on systems integration, APIs, cloud tooling, observability, and orchestration. While most of your work will support AI-first use cases, you’ll occasionally contribute to broader integration needs across our enterprise platforms landscape.
This will include
AI-Focused Integration & Automation
- Build and maintain integration pipelines that connect AI agents, services, and workflows with EH and third party platforms
- Work with business and enablement teams to deliver production-ready automations that power AI-first use cases
- Design and implement secure, scalable integration patterns using modern tooling (e.g. serverless functions, webhooks, pub/sub models)
General Integration Engineering
- Contribute to broader system integration needs across EH
- Help uplift the team’s ability to manage and monitor integrations, ensuring reliability and traceability
- Maintain integration artefacts, error handling logic, and standardised reusable components
Platform Enablement & Collaboration
- Partner with AI Enablement Specialists to deliver the technical back-end for experiments and pilots that need robust infrastructure
- Unblock use cases by solving data access, flow orchestration, or cross-platform integration challenges
- Support teams in understanding and using integration capabilities, platforms, or APIs effectively
Cloud-Native Architecture & Delivery
- Build and manage integration components in AWS or other cloud-native environments (e.g. Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway)
- Contribute to infrastructure-as-code and automation of deployment pipelines as needed
- Maintain observability across key services and respond to issues with speed and precision
Who you are
To thrive at Employment Hero, you’ll need to embody The EH Way - operating with focus, agility, and an obsession with impact. For this role, you’ll also bring
- 3–5 years in integration engineering, automation, or backend roles with a delivery mindset
- Strong hands-on experience with REST APIs, event-driven systems, and data flow design
- Experience building integrations using AWS services (e.g. Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, S3, EventBridge)
- Familiarity with scripting or backend languages (e.g. Python, Node.js) and infrastructure-as-code
- Understanding of modern SaaS platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Slack, Relevance.ai, etc.) and how to connect them
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment and adapt to shifting priorities
- Comfortable supporting both AI and non-AI integration scenarios based on business need
