The role

We are looking for an accounts receivable specialist to help manage the day-to- day operations related to A/R and build processes to improve the efficiency of our department.

We are looking for someone with a diverse skill set who can help the sales team with the quote to cash process, ensure deals comply with accounting requirements and internal processes, and work with the accounting department to manage systems.

This is a great entry-level accounting opportunity for someone who is self-motivated, detail oriented, and enjoys building scalable processes at a high-growth SaaS company. 

What the job entails

  • Develop understanding of Ahrefs internal contract and data management tools, product pricing models, contract structures, revenue management systems, and business practices
  • Build and manage the collections process to maintain healthy aged receivable balances
  • Complete customer’s vendor registration requests and related forms
  • Process customer billings (recurring, one-time, and usage) and verify the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of invoices
  • Post customer payments and other cash deposits
  • Reconcile with customer accounts and resolve discrepancies related to payments, credits, and billing
  • Manage billing inbox to address inquiries from customer and internal teams
  • Upload invoices against POs in vendor portals as needed
  • Follow up with customers on past due invoices and other inquiries
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to sales, customer success and support to understand and solve our clients’ billing needs and issues.
  • Maintain documentation around AR processes and policies
  • Assist with year-end audit requests and ad hoc projects as needed

The skills you need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related area
  • 1-3 years relevant experience working with a technology company/startup preferred
  • Highly detail oriented and can juggle many projects at once
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal)
  • Sharp attention to detail with a natural feel for numbers and data
  • A high level of comfort with the ambiguity associated with a fast moving business, international environment, and compliance with standards and internal processes
  • Ability to keep up with frequent changes to products, policies, procedures, and people
  • Ability to work with remote teams
  • Customer service-oriented with a focus on building strong relationships
