The Accountant is responsible for month-end processes, managing accounting tasks such as GL, revenue, fixed assets, and inventory, ensuring statutory compliance, and liaising with external auditors. The role includes preparing financial statements, maintaining internal controls, and participating in finance-related projects, while using ERP systems for effective financial management. Strong analytical and technical accounting skills are essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support month end process which includes finalizing accounting entries, reconciling P&L and Balance sheet figures within deadlines. Analyze month on month variances
- Responsible for accounting processes and tasks- GL, Revenue, Fixed assets and Inventory
- Coordinate and liaise with internal parties to support intercompany activities (billing and reconciliation)
- Support and ensure compliance with all finance filing requirements and statutory tax filing requirement, internal and external audits
- Ensure that accounting records are thoroughly maintained in preparation for independent audits
- Coordinate and liaise with external parties like external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents and government authorities where required
- Prepare accounts reconciliation and follow-up/resolve open items for specified tasks
- Work closely with Shared Services Centre to manage A/P and staff claims
- Maintain adequate and current documentation of internal control
- Ensure that all processes and decisions are in line with IQVIA SOPs and local legal requirements
- Review and provide recommendations on an ongoing basis to automate/improve existing financial processes and implement new processes where opportunities exist
- Participate in or manage Finance related projects as needed
- Where applicable, ensure appropriate communication with all business partners and support business partners in financial decisions, if required
- Maintain a solid working knowledge of technical accounting skills
- May assume overall responsibility for small size legal entity or regional tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance/ Accounting
- Min. 5-8 years’ experience in relevant experience in MNC. US GAAP knowledge is preferred
- Knowledge of General Ledger accounting with experience in passing journal entries and preparing account reconciliations
- Knowledge of fixed asset and inventory accounting
- Experience in dealing with external auditors, tax agents and corporate secretary
- Able to prepare audit schedules and draft statutory financial statements
- Able to prepare GST, tax schedules and tax computation
- Experience in dealing with shared service or outsourcing
- Knowledge of finance modules of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as PeopleSoft, Hyperion and Power BI
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Strong Technical accounting, analytical and numeracy skills
- Ability to identify financial issues and execute mitigating actions
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple work requirements to meet deadlines
- Maintain an inquisitive attitude/mind towards routine tasks
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
