Job Title: Accountant
Department: Finance
Reports To: Asia Pacific Regional Financial Controller
Summary:
The Accountant’s role is to assist the Asia Pacific Regional Financial Controller in maintaining the Accounting ledgers for Singapore and other Countries in the Southeast Asia Pacific region. The role will also be responsible for Payables Management and liaison with external Accountants. The Accountant is a member of the Finance/Accounting team within the company. The ideal candidate will have an appropriate mix of financial accounting skills and analytical ability.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The duties initially assigned include, but are not limited to:
Management
- Responsible for creating and maintaining various schedules, analyses and reports, including but not limited to Operating Statements, Project Summaries and end of the month reports as requested by the Regional Financial Controller.
- Cash flow management
- Supervise, assist and liaise with external accountants in the Southeast Asia Pacific subsidiaries and divisions.
- Support local Management teams
Operational
- Maintenance of the general ledger, including the preparation of schedules, reconciliations and analyses.
- Treasury function
- Processing vendor invoices and employee expense reports, verifying proper approval, match to purchase order, book proper expense accounts and adherence to all company policies.
- Monitor the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable aged reports
- Assist the Financial Controller with Budgeting, Forecasting, Management Reporting and various other ad hoc projects.
- Incorporation of the monthly financial results of various international operations into the local reporting pack, including the analysis of the data reported from the foreign operations and the resolution of queries.
- Liaison with external tax accountants with regards to GST, VAT, Withholding tax.
- Assist in annual Audit process.
- Perform other accounting and additional duties as required from time to time
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification and at least 4 years experience in a similar role.
- Excellent ERP/Financial system skills and experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- CPA certification a plus.
- Prior experience with international accounting and foreign exchange issues is a plus.
- Fluency in Southeast Asian languages (Bahasa Indonesia, Thai) is a strong advantage.

For the first 3 or 6 months (experience and role dependent), we ask our employees to work in the office 5 days a week. Once this period is up, they can drop down to 3 days in the office, one of which must be Monday.
