As the Accountant, you will be reporting to the Finance Manager, and working closely with the rest of the Financial Control team based in Singapore, Australia and Japan, making an impact in a number of ways:
- You will be supporting the Singapore Financial Controllership team in relation to month-end close, including journals, balance sheet reconciliation and variance analysis.
- Manage year-end statutory reporting obligation across Singapore entities.
- Assist in lenders reporting preparation and other ad-hoc assignments as required.
Your Day to Day
- Performing financial accounting and controlling duties such as preparation of monthly financial reports, accounting journals and review of balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with international accounting standards and regional statutory reporting requirements, including managing external audits, relevant statistical and compliance reports
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of accounting activities to facilitate the monthly close in NetSuite and other systems
- Support the Tax team for tax compliance obligations and special purpose studies
- Support Group’s regional financing arrangements on covenant reporting and various other information undertakings
- Support reporting to joint venture partners, government authorities and other stakeholders
- Enhance financial controls by implementing, enforcing, and strengthening a robust system of internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Participate in system roll-out for other businesses
- Assist with other ad hoc projects and duties as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline
- 5 years of work experience in financial reporting (prior big 4 audit experience is advantageous)
- CA/CPA qualified
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with NetSuite is a plus
- Detail oriented and proactive problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaborative teamwork skills
- Proven ability to work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and ever-changing environment
