Position Summary:
Responsible for selling Molecular Spectroscopy instrumentation to all accounts within defined region
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify prospective opportunities within a defined geographical region.
- Seek out new accounts as well as service existing accounts.
- Implement professional sales calls to increase sales growth and territory penetration.
- Engage in contract discussions and close orders with end users and purchasing departments.
- Maintain and enter accurate customer data and sales project information into Sales Force.com.
- Provide accurate and timely monthly sales forecasts to sales management.
- Identify and interpret customer’s requirements, align those to Thermo Fisher Scientific capabilities, and effectively communicate these to customers.
- Coordinate activities with other Divisions to improve exposure at accounts.
- Attend and support tradeshows, user meetings, customer seminars, and other customer events through technical and business presentations.
- Serve as a product specialist in the sales process and provide effective product presentations.
- Plan and provide customers with order-winning demonstrations of our instrumentation.
- Remain commercially aware and adaptable to business conditions.
- Assist in the annual planning of the financial performance of the Company.
- Work collaboratively and successfully with Sales and Service groups to meet customer requirements.
- Apply divisional resources to perform all responsibilities.
- Consistently achieve/exceed order bookings objectives.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent experience in a scientific field.
- Good knowledge of Material Sciences.
- Proven experience in a commercial environment, preferably capital analytical equipment sales.
- A consistent track record in sales quota achievement and territory management.
- An understanding of Vibrational Spectroscopy is desirable.
- Broad familiarity with industries such as Academia, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Polymers, Food, Material Sciences, and Petrochemical.
- Highly sales-focused with the ability to work independently.
- Must reside within the assigned territory.
- Ability to travel.
- Valid driving license.
- Experience using sales databases, Outlook, and MS Office suite.
- Proficient in English.
