About the Role

Monks is hiring for an Account Director.

We are looking for a strategic and dynamic Account Director to lead key client relationships, drive innovative marketing and advertising campaigns, and oversee a high-performing team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment, balancing big-picture strategy with hands-on execution.

As an Account Director, you will own client success, ensuring impactful campaigns, business growth, and creative excellence across multiple projects. If you’re passionate about building brands, leading teams, and delivering award-winning work, we want you on board.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Leadership & Strategic Growth

  • Be the trusted advisor for clients, shaping their marketing strategies and ensuring strong partnerships. Proactively identify opportunities to improve clients’ marketing performance.
  • Lead strategic planning, brand positioning, and integrated campaign development across multiple channels.
  • Identify growth opportunities within accounts and drive upselling and cross-selling of services.

Campaign & Project Oversight

  • Oversee the execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns, ensuring timely delivery and high-impact results.
  • Collaborate with creative, media, social, and content teams to bring ideas to life.
  • Drive innovation, ensuring our work is always ahead of the curve..

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of account managers and executives to deliver best-in-class client service.
  • Ensure smooth collaboration between internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, creativity, and strategic thinking.

Performance & Business Impact

  • Measure campaign effectiveness, leveraging data to optimise and refine marketing strategies. Track campaign performance and provide data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Stay on top of industry trends, competitive insights, and new marketing technologies.
  • Report key insights to both clients and internal leadership, ensuring alignment on goals and ROI.

About YouThe Essentials:

  • At least 8 years of experience in advertising or marketing within a fast-paced, independent environment.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit, with the ability to drive day-to-day work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of executing large-scale strategies and managing diverse digital marketing programs to meet key objectives.
  • Comfortable analyzing digital marketing metrics to optimize program performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation abilities.
  • Experience leading and developing teams, providing mentorship, and driving growth.
  • Ability to write campaign briefs and give strong direction to creative teams.
  • Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to organize complex workflows across teams.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and presentation tools; openness to learning new software/tools.

Not a must, but a plus:

  • Proficiency in additional Southeast Asian languages (e.g., Mandarin, Bahasa, etc.) is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Monday.com, Salesforce, etc. is a plus.
