As a Technology / Quant intern at Caladan, you will gain first-hand experience working closely with top engineers, quants and traders as part of small teams doing real work.

Close to 40% of our Engineering team are former interns and have gone on to a wide variety of roles, some are now even acting as mentors for the next group of interns!


Dates

Our experience is that internships prove most valuable when interns have context and are comfortable within the environment so we prioritise those that are able to commit to longer internships from May - November / December 2026.


In 2026 we are looking for interns to embed into various teams:

Software Engineers & Algo Developers

  • Building connectivity to new venues, exploring new blockchains & protocols
  • Optimising existing trading strategies & developing new algo logic
  • Improving the reliability & efficiency of core platforms
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable trading platform infrastructure

Quant Research & Trading

  • Exploring market microstructures to identify patterns & inefficiencies that can be translated into profitable trading strategies
  • Developing statistical & machine learning models to predict market behaviour
  • Monitoring live trading performances, looking for opportunities to refine & adapt strategies to evolving market conditions

Who is this aimed at?

  • 3rd or 4th year undergraduates or Masters students studying a STEM or adjacent subject
  • Proactive programmers with hands on experience coding in Python, C++ or C#
  • Inquisitive, Curious, who want to understand the ‘why?’ and ‘what if?’ as much as the ‘how?’

Internship Outcomes
  • Gain insights into the fintech and high frequency trading industries
  • Enhance coding skills; get exposed to new tools and programming languages
  • Hands-on experience to apply computer science studies in a professional environment 
  • Experience in an agile startup environment
  • Improve communication (both oral and written) skills and interpersonal effectiveness
  • One-on-one mentorship from our software engineers
