Job Description

2025 Graduate Trainee Program (Agri-Commercial Track):

This is an 18-month program designed to equip you with foundational knowledge and professional skills in one of our business platforms, with rotation across various functions such as trade execution, research, and marketing/trading. Through practical projects and mentoring from business leaders, you would gain deeper understanding of the business and competencies that are essential to furthering your career growth.

Depending on individual performance, you could expect to develop professionally in commodities research, trading, marketing roles after the program and beyond.

Key Department Rotations and Responsibilities:

Research:

  • Process and analyze information, develop relevant databases, and synthesize research and report findings in a clear and informative structure
  • Manage statistical data in commodities balance sheets and conduct macroeconomic monitoring
  • Contribute new insights and independent ideas to the team
  • Assist researchers and traders with the commercial research and trading activities

Trading:

  • Monitor daily trading environment and predict market movement
  • Support the team on completion and execution of trades efficiently and accurately
  • Support the team on deals with new clients
  • Keep the commercial team informed of relevant issues with their customers
  • Follow market movements and support decision-making
  • Perform detailed data analysis and valuation
  • Create dynamic and intuitive dashboards to support business reporting and analytics

Marketing:

  • Enhance technical skills in derivatives and physical markets
  • Abide by the company’s risk control policy and execution procedure
  • Follow up contract execution and work with related (credit/contracts/logistics) teams to solve problems
  • Provide market data to research team

Sustainability (only applicable for certain business platforms):

  • Assess the risks associated with sustainability issues, such as climate change, water scarcity and labor rights violations in LDC value chains
  • Support the company to comply with relevant laws and standards relative to sustainability (e.g. EU Deforestation Regulation, Sustainable Certification Standards etc)

Requirements:

  • Recent graduates from all degree disciplines and with strong academic records are welcome to apply
  • Strong problem solving and numerical/analytical skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in uncertainty situations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and programming languages e.g., VBA, Python, Power BI is a plus
  • Prior internship/ experience in commodities industry is a plus
