GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Our Global Products Solution (GPS) Technology department aims to strategically develop, strengthen and align the software engineering expertise and implement state of the art platforms covering Execution, Sales and Trading.

As a highly motivated and experienced senior devops engineer, you are to take ownership and maintain our Market Data Platform (MDP), ensuring their stability, performance, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will have a strong background in CI/CD pipeline, vendor software, Kubernetes and ideally come from a development background. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a talented team and contribute to the growth and success of our organization.

Note: This will be a 12 months contract role with an external agency payroll provider.

KEY FEATURES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Agile Program Planning and Execution

• Actively participate in Program Increment (PI) planning processes within GPS
• Proactively participate in all Agile ceremonies, e.g stand-ups and sprint planning.

Change Management

• Work on market data platform related initiatives of the bank
• Be a driver for Standardization and Automation within GPS Technology
• Drive the onboarding of our applications to the Cloud Native Stack
• Drive the onboarding of our teams to common platforms (Observability Frameworks, …)
• Support to foster the engineering culture within your team
• Bring proven expertise in engineering practices and processes and have experience operating and supporting critical business systems on a global scale.
• Your experience with microservices, cloud-native applications and distributed systems will help us propel our business growth.
• As part of a highly collaborative team, contribute to the future Software Solutions strategy of the GPS
• Support maintaining common platforms within GPS

Regulatory Responsibilities &/OR Risk Management

• Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Professional and Technical

• More than 8 years of experience
• Experience working with, integrating and configuring vendor software
• Experience with databases such as OneTick or similar
• Solid ability to work on Linux infrastructure
• CI/CD experience (Jenkins, GitLab, maven and others)
• Scripting skills (bash)
• Kubernetes deployments and experience with distributed architectures
• Development background (any of: java, dotnet, scala, python, javascript)
• Ability to elicit non-functional requirements and document system designs
• Understanding of communication stacks (any of: RabbitMq, Kafka, GRPC, web sockets)
• Great communication skills and ability to work across various time zones with people of different nationalities

Professional and Technical

• Experience within banking domain, especially within financial markets
• Experience with Azure Application Platform, especially AKS
• Experience and proficiency in designing architecture and writing code for microservices and distributed applications
• Operators, helm chart creation and maintenance
• Observability tools (Grafana, ElasticSearch, fluent-bit, OpenTelemetry)
• Understanding of security topics such as Oauth 2.0, TLS, and vulnerability scanning

• Excellent command of verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work autonomously in a global team setup to take on initiative with a positive attitude
• Solution orientated and able to work in an agile setup
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines
• Highly motivated blended with a team player spirit
