Leads upstream and downstream manufacturing process investigations, root cause analysis, process improvements, technology transfers, process validation, and continuous process verification. Serves as a technical subject matter expert, supports regulatory submissions and audits, manages change controls, develops process documentation, and mentors junior Manufacturing Sciences engineers. Requires biopharmaceutical manufacturing or development experience, cGMP knowledge, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a matrix environment.

Supports chemical process design, process optimization, safety adherence, routine experiments, troubleshooting, and process improvement within Takeda’s engineering operations. Works under close supervision on limited-scope problems, prepares technical documentation and presentations, applies foundational materials science, and collaborates with team members to improve production quality, cost, safety, reliability, and performance.

Conducts laboratory-scale experiments supporting bioprocess development, validation, manufacturing investigations, and process improvements. Responsibilities include cell culture, purification, analytical support, scale-down model execution, troubleshooting, documentation, equipment maintenance, calibration, material management, and implementation of new laboratory technologies and equipment. The role also supports EHS compliance, audit CAPA closure, and laboratory housekeeping while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
