What It's Like to Work at IDeaS

I am fond of our company's culture, which minimizes hierarchy, embraces diversity, and places high value on the contributions each individual brings. This culture allows people to freely express their opinions.

One thing that struck me when I joined 12 years ago, and still observe daily, is how generous people are with their time. Everyone is busy, but when you ask someone a question, helping you becomes their priority. It's a precious part of our culture.

To me, it really does feel like family. People take care of one another and colleagues become close friends, great advocates, and even a support group during tough times in work or personal lives.

Working in the hospitality and technology industry is highly rewarding, but can also be demanding in terms of time and energy. IDeaS fosters a 'work hard, play hard' mentality, but team members are also empowered to be the CEO of our individual business. That allows us to really balance work and personal time as we individually see fit.

One of the things that I’ve learned in my three years here is that IDeaS recognizes that its people are at the heart of its success, so they promote a growth mindset. There is a wide variety of education available, lots of opportunities to learn, and internal movement options to expand your experience.

We source new opportunities from all over the company, as well as from our partners and clients. No idea is too crazy. Then, we take a structured approach to filtering ideas to focus on what will make a real difference. This open approach allows everyone to contribute and has proven to lead to groundbreaking innovations.

When people are empowered to unleash their creativity, great things happen. It’s what drives impactful results. Ensuring everyone's ideas are valued and encouraged sets the scene for this to take place.
