About the role:

The Senior Developer Experience Engineer is a role in our newly formed Camunda Ex(perience) team within Camunda's Product Engineering department.

In this role, you will play a key part in improving the experience for developers using our Camunda 8 stack. From governing APIs, such as the Orchestration Cluster REST API, to shaping and creating development tools for Camunda 8, like native Camunda clients (Existing: Java, Javascript; Planned: Python, C#) and test libraries (Camunda Process Test), you’ll have plenty of opportunities to leave your mark on the kick-ass polyglot Developer Experience we want to provide to our users!

In the new team and in this role specifically, you have the opportunity to have a significant impact on Camunda’s adoption in the industry, with a strong focus on the developer persona, building on the strengths and reputation Camunda has already established in the past. As a developer yourself, you will internally advocate and contribute hands-on to a well-crafted experience that seamlessly meets the expectations of other developers.

This is a role for a person who brings technical capabilities, creativity, autonomy, and vision, utilizing these skills to continuously shape our product for the better, raising the overall bar on the Developer Experience.

      • Actively contributed to the development of new native Clients (e.g., Python or C#), e.g. adding/contributing to a job worker framework

      • Improved existing clients (Java, Javascript) in one of the following ways: added a QoL improvement to the client - e.g., a generic backoff mechanism

Extended our Camunda Spring Boot Starter by implementing one of the open feature requests

What You Bring:

  • Ability to work asynchronously with teams and cross-functional groups across time zones to accomplish a singular goal
